We hope that the children will have fun learning and practicing all about vocabulary and new grammar.

Space with cushions
AGE: 4 or 5 years
TIME: 30’
ACTIVITY:
First we will need a computer and a projector for some online activities. We will go to a space with cushions.
Second we will see a nice video of fruits and other foods. At the end we will comment the video, and we going to practice a little conversation, in pairs or three children. One of the children will pretend to be a waiter and the others children pretend to be customers at a restaurant. I will prepare a blackboard with the topic conversion in a restaurant, but the phrases will lie around. Children will have to arrange in the true order and make a conversation.
The next class we will continue with the same vocabulary and add more vocabulary about food.

New Year's Day
NEW YEAR’S DAY
In England people celebrate New Year’s Day because it is the first day of the New Year.
This day has always been celebrated in a quiet way because the night of 31st December, New Year’s Eve, is usually the night when people have parties until the early hours of the morning.
Traditionally families get together al lunch time and have a large meal. This includes toast turkey, roast potatoes and parsnips, fresh boiled vegetables, gravy which is a sauce made of the juices from the turkey, and various other sauces.
Families will talk about how they welcomed in the New Year.
In the afternoon, quite probably, the men will sit around the table and play cards while drinking Scotch whiskey and the women will chat over coffee. The children will most likely play with their toys from Father Christmas.
In classroom
One day we are going to talk about New Year’s Day. We will start with different questions about this day. For example we can ask:
Can anyone tell us when we celebrate this?
Do your grandparents come for lunch on this day?
Do you remember what kind of food you eat?
Later we can tell a fairy tale about New Year’s Day and finally do a perform a play.

FOREIGN LANGUAGE LEARNING FOR YOUNG AND VERY YOUNG CHILDREN
FOREIGN LANGUAGE LEARNING FOR YOUNG AND VERY YOUNG CHILDREN
Young and very young children live in a magical world. At early ages children are “sponges” and they absorb all types of information.
I think that all schools should promote bilingualism. Children should learn foreign and mother tongue languages, for example English, Catalan, Spanish, German, Italian, etc.
In my opinion English is the best language to learn because it’s the word’s global language.
But I think that learning and teaching a foreign language is so difficult, especially at cum early ages. On the other hand teachers have a lot of means for teaching one language and are something funny and with different plays. Children must pay because it is the best way to learn a foreign language.
Some of the games plays that I would do are: costumes, storytelling, songs, doing theatre plays based on short stories, and games.
Personally I would love to learn English because I’m terrible at it I am aware that it’s extremely important to find a job to communicate and enrich ourselves. I say all this because if I had learned English before I wouldn’t have so many problems.
The best way to learn a foreign language is playing games and having good, friendly and patient teacher.
Finally I would say that one of the best thing in the world is understand up people no matter which language they speak.
Thank you.

MR. TWIT GOES TO THE HAIRDRESSER
MR. TWIT GOES TO THE HAIRDRESSER
One morning Mr. Twit woke up with all his hairy-face full of pieces of food from the night before. He had had a tuna salad with bread for dinner so he had some bread and tuna chunks all over his face. Mrs Twit woke up too and said: you are so dirty and smelly! Go and wash your hairy-face! Mr Twit listened to his ugly wife and went to the bathroom to wash himself but the food was already really hard so he couldn’t remove the pieces of bread and tuna from his hair.
Mr. Twit came out of the bathroom and said to Ms Twit: darling! I can’t wash my face properly because all the food is already stuck to my hair so I think I should go to the hairdresser.
Mrs Twit answered him: oh dear! That’s a really good idea!
Mr Twit got dressed had breakfast and went to town to find a place to get his hair cut. After a while he found a small old place with a big advertisement on the door that said: We cut your hair for less than a beer! Mr Twit saw through the window an ugly man and decided to go inside the hairdresser. He was sure this man was a good hairdresser because he was old and so he had a lot of experience cutting hair.
Mr Jimmy, the hairdresser told Mr Twit to take a seat and he quickly started his job. He suddenly realized that he wasn’t able to cut Mr Twit’s hair with a normal pair of scissors because his hair was so dirty and a sticky that it was very difficult to cut hard.
Jimmy went to the storeroom to get an electric saw started to cut Mr Twit’s hair. At the beginning Mr Twit was a little bit scared but at the end he was really happy with Jimmy’s work.
From that day Mr Twit decided not to have long hair anymore and he promised his wife he would go once per week to the hairdresser.
